International Wheelchair Day, what is it about?

International Wheelchair Day 2024, March 1st, is an annual event dedicated to talking about the importance of wheelchairs for people with mobility difficulties. It’s a reminder to us all that wheelchairs empower people, enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and contributions of wheelchair users and promote inclusivity and accessibility in society.

Not JUST a Wheelchair!

International Wheelchair Day 2024 acknowledges that Wheelchairs are not just mobility aids; they are instruments of independence, allowing access to education, employment, and leisure activities. Acknowledging this day promotes a better understanding of the challenges faced by those with mobility difficulties and advocates for more accessible environments and policies. It emphasises the need to break down societal barriers and create a more inclusive society, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can get involved, feel seen and contribute to their communities.

All Mobility Aids

All mobility aids are an essential piece of equipment for anyone who has mobility impairment. Be they wheelchairs, rollators, walking sticks / canes, crutches or mobility scooters.
